Uckele Health & Nutrition Inducted into Entrepreneurial and Business Excellence Hall of Fame
Mike Uckele, CN, will receive the Business Excellence Award and be inducted into the Entrepreneurial & Business Excellence Hall of Fame at a formal ceremony on November 20, 2008 held at the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College in Sylvania. Mike is President/CEO and owner of Uckele Health & Nutrition, founded by his Grandfather in the early 1960's, which manufactures thousands of health and nutritional supplements for the human and equine markets.
Uckele Health & Nutrition is a Michigan-based, family owned business that has built a reputation over four decades formulating and manufacturing nutritional products, also providing private labeling and custom manufacturing for many other companies and organizations worldwide. Under Mike's direction over the last 3 years, Uckele Health & Nutrition's revenue has grown by 89% and its workforce has double from 25 to 50 employees. Recently Uckele constructed an 18,000 square-foot expansion to the original 15,000 square-foot facility, which includes manufacturing areas, retail store and offices in Blissfield, Michigan, more than doubling its original size
The Entrepreneurial & Business Excellence Hall of Fame was formed to encourage, promote, and recognize outstanding entrepreneurship, family business, and business excellence in Northwest Ohio. The EBE Hall of Fame focuses on entrepreneurs and innovative businesses whose efforts are making outstanding contributions to the business community and the region's economy. The program was created by Gorillas & Gazelles LLC in partnership with Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo.
Mike Uckele graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Business Administration. A Certified Nutritionist, Mike has studied extensively in the areas of nutrition and nutritional biochemistry. He has been a consultant in the nutrition industry for 18 years, developing nutritional formulations and programs. He has developed hundreds of unique nutritional formulas for both people and animals over the last decade that have offered clients tools to achieve optimal health.
Mike has many clients in professional sports, such as players in the National Football League, National Hockey League, National Basketball Association and professional boxing, where he individually consults to improve players' over-all health through nutrition.
